Come on Baseball get with the program

Of all the major sports out there baseball is the only one without a salary cap and that begs the question why? Why not have a salary cap? A salary cap allows all teams to compete at some level for free agents. I mean seriously if there were a salary cap in baseball the Milwaukee Brewers, a team thats known for having a small payroll due to the fact that it's in a small market just might have as much chance to land a pitcher like CC Sabathia as say the Yankees (who got him for 7 years and $161 million). A salary cap is especially all thirty teams to adopt agood in these tough economic times when everyone is tightening their belts. How is it when we're in a recession and these guys are spending a quarter billion dollars on free agents? Hello what is this world coming to? I mean every other team is being cost conscious but not the Yankees they just spend, spend, spend.

STOP ALREADY!!!

Note to Bud Selig: as the former owner of a professional baseball team that regurlarly could not compete with teams like the Yankees, Mets, Red Sox, etc. you should be pushing for all thirty teams to adopt a salary cap "for the integrity of the game". If you want a level playing field push for a salary cap so that all teams can compete it's the right thing to do.

a few things i want to get off my chest....

Here are a few random thoughts that I want to get out of my head and onto paper for my first blog so here goes.....

1. Let's get one thing straight here, the Cards aren't winning the Super Bowl and here's why the drama that overcame them last week when they beat my hometown Eagles is gonna bite them in the butt. Anquan Boldin, while a good wide receiver should not be berading the coaches on the sideline first of all and second of all should not complain about his contract the week of the biggest game of his life. Complain about stuff like that in the offseason when it matters because thats when all the focus is going to be on money because almost everyone is going to want a new contract.

That's just one thing that will plague the Cards. Secondly, is the fact that Arizona is essentially a Cinderella team. No one expects them in the big game, and nobody expects them to win because they are in essence the Tampa Bay Rays in the respect hat they have been bad for a long time and now all the sudden they're on the biggest stage in sports simply because they had a fluke season. Eventually that strong run that they have had will end, just like for the Rays in last year's WS.

One more thing I want to get off my chest, for the love of God stop playing the disrespect card it isn't working. Teams respected you enough based on what you did in the playoffs, but here's the skinny for all you Arizona fans is that the truth of the matter behind it all is that you weren't even factored into the SB conversation much less the playoffs. If my memory serves me correctly the Cards were 250-1 longshots to even make the Super Bowl. So enjoy this while you can Cards fans and Go Steelers.
